90/100The struggle of someone with amnesia between his new life feelings and his old life feelings...Continue on AniList- Before reading the review:
Mi review will have ONE spoiler of episode 3, but even with this spoiler you can watch it perfectly. Actually some friends started watching the anime cause I told them this spoiler.... and they loved it, so read or not, your choice. I did choose to use that spoiler (wich I don't even consider an spoiler, but it is not told till episode 3) cause honestly, without it, the explanation would NOT be what Golden Time is about. Also on some sites (like MyAnimeList) they tell you about that spoiler too on the synopsis. So really, IMO, don't be afraid of reading this, I think it really helps to know what is the anime about, and the real reason to watch it.
- The review:
What makes this anime so good is the situation it tell us about.
Golden Time it's based on a Main character (Tada Banri) that got an accident and because of that he has amnesia. Because of the amnesia, he can't face his old friends/family, cause he think they will expect the old Tada Banri, so he starts a new life alone traveling to an university on Tokyo.
Everything is fine there, he even got a really nice girlfriend that he loves so much. BUT... he start to remember some things about his old self... he start to remember he loved another girl that is actually on the same university and they are friends now. So now he has a internal fight between his old feelings to that girl and his new feelings to his actual girlfriend. This anime show you how cruel life can be... you have someone that you love so much, and he/she loves you so much too, then... he forget about you cause an accident. He forget the feelings and the bond you both chad... and u remember everything. It breaks my heart so much to imagine a tragedy like that, and the fact that it could really happen to any of us anytime, without warnings, without nothing... and that; is why Golden Time is so good.
- Extra stuff:
This is the best review I can give you about Golden Time, so I'll leave it like that and tell you a few extra thing to reach minimun amount of characters required for reviews on Anilist hahah So you don't really have to read more to be honest.
Art is good, is not outstanding but is is really good. Characters and plot are the real deal here and what makes this anime really special. The soundtrack... after years, I honestly don't remember/have any song/theme in particular, and I usually do have a lot of openings/endings/ost of animes I watch, so that means it is probably just ok, good on the anime but nothing really special. It definitely wasn't bad. The pacing is good, not too slow or too quick, and every episode is enjoyable.

95/100Can you accept yourself given a chance again?Continue on AniListThis will be a 90% spoiler-free review
I hope everyone who watches this anime truly finds what he cannot accept in his life. The author has done a great job in writing a transformative story that is targeted at a young audience what they truly desire in their life. Is it being yourself by abandoning everyone or accepting who you are and live happily with the ones who care about you?
Tada Banri the proto suffers from what he cannot accept love for someone who he lost. And meets Kaga Koko a girl with whom he sympathizes initially but understands her feelings. On the course of the story, Banri struggles a lot to understand who he was. The most important thing he always forgets is himself and his feelings change quickly. He cannot accept who he is and hates himself for being so foolish to forget someone who was important.
One thing the anime focuses is on we all have people who are important to us and yet we feel inadequate and constantly search for something was lost in the past.
Everything is an experience in this age

It also focuses on friendship and love how it can easily change with time. But given a strong bond, they remain forever in your heart and keep you happy. Easily the best anime and true its name its always
Golden Time to watch it and a golden animeThe most important thing to remember while watching this anime is you're gonna cry at least feel sorry for the characters that the turmoil they're facing. The author had literally put all of the characters in a tough spot each time and makes it clear that you've got to resolve what you want.
Showing how everyone can be fragile inside even though they act tough outside. Tada Banri, Kaga Kouko, Mitsuo Yanagisawa, Okachi Nami(Oka Chinami), Sato Takaya everyone has their own growth toward the end of the story. But I feel like Yana deserved something more in the end after all it's her story.
Banri is a very kindhearted and benevolent person. Banri is shown to be a 'Ghost' of himself previously losing his memory; his lost memories reside in a spirit that watches over him. He does not have control over what the ghost does and he cannot remember what the ghost does to him; this may be hinting to a separate and distinct personality, though this may only apply to the anime. He is afraid of disappearing and does not want people to forget him.
Sorry I had to copy the above spoiler from the internet.

65/100My thoughts on Golden TimeContinue on AniListWhere do I even begin with this anime? Honestly, it was a worthwhile experience to watch, despite the score that I gave it. I'll go through why I gave the score that I did, but first I'd like to explain what makes this series good. Some might say the story was cliche, something straight out of your commonplace storybook; A man who lost everything in one night, suddenly wakes up in a world he doesn't remember, a world he knows he doesn't belong. He awakens to find himself in a hospital, only to learn that he'd fallen off of a bridge that lead to him losing all of his memories from very beginning of his life up until the night of the accident. He doesn't remember a thing. He struggles with his identity; his past self. And in the same way, his past-self is still there, clinging onto his memories, and onto Linda. He meets a girl named Koko, and he falls in love, and they eventually begin dating. I won't go through the whole story, these reviews are only to share my opinion of the end product anyways. In short, he begins struggling with his memories returning and eventually they return, and in place, he has no recollection of anything that had happened since after the accident happened. The story's general point of interest and main theme that they focused on was very unique and whenever he began to remember his past-self and forget his present-self, It was exciting. But, now to explain where this anime falls short.
This anime has a very slow start. Honestly, I wanted to stop watching at the 9th episode because of how boring it was getting. But then there was a turning point that brought me back in; the returning of his memories. I kept watching this anime, just waiting for those moments that turned these boring life experiences and made them that much more interesting. As terrible as that might sound, it's the truth. The three main characters that this story centers itself around is Banri (his name really bothered me, don't really like its pronunciation either lol), Koko, and Linda. From the start, I didn't really like Koko's personality. Even to the end, as much as she grew on me and I got to see her transformation and her love for Banri, I still couldn't accept her. If I had the choice, I would've made Banri x Linda a thing. I would've loved to see this anime get darker towards the end. The ending was, well, not too great. The anime ends with Banri losing his memories again but regaining his memories from before the accident, and thus he doesn't know who Koko is. However, somehow this changes for no explainable reason and he all the sudden remembers her and runs back to her and they get back together again. It really did seem like the writers were trying to appeal to mainstream fans and give them exactly what they wanted: A "happy" ending, one where everyone turns out happy, but it left too many plot-holes. For example, how was Linda able to run up and hug the past Banri and tell him her answer was yes? How is it that his past-self was able to just accept that and leave the current Banri be? How was there even a past Banri and a present Banri in the first place? They're the same person, he just lost those memories, so how come Banri is being shown as two different beings? I understand the direction the story was going for this, and maybe it's just me being upset over the result of the ending. I would've loved a darker ending to this series. A more realistic approach to it, not one that looks like it's going in that direction but then stops and takes a U-turn like "Oh! Just kidding!". Like, perhaps Linda gets her chance to answer his question? And they can live a happy life together? After all, she still loved him all this time. Why is it that past Banri has this taken away from him because of all this nonsense? I'm not saying I hate that he ended up with Koko, I think she was a really character. I just think the ending was happy-go-lucky and typical for an anime trying to appease everyone and not take risks.
So, that's what I thought about Golden Time. It was good, but it had a slow start, even up till halfway through, there just wasn't enough exciting moments and just a whole lot of relationship drama. I'm fully aware this is a slice-of-life for a reason, and that's just what a slice-of-life is, but this particular one didn't take good enough advantage of the free times it had between Banri remembering his memories. The characters themselves were fine, I especially loved Oka's character. She was cute, but knew how to be assertive when the time was needed, and she's not a complete goody-two-shoes either. She knows how to pick a fight. I just didn't particularly like the story progression or the ending. That's why this anime got the score that it did from me.
Overall, did this anime leave a mark on me? Not really.
Was it good? Yeah, I would say so.
Would I recommend a friend to watch this? Honestly, this is where I get conflicted. I liked it, but I don't think it's very much worth it enough to mention to a friend. It's one of those animes where if you stubble upon it and I get asked about, I'll be like yeah, go for it, It's good. But I'm not going to go out of my way to tell someone about this anime.
And there it is, my Golden Time review.
