100/100A Roller Coaster of Emotions that'll leave you contemplating! Bravo!Continue on AniListAlbeit many people cerebrate that this is just an anime about girls who transform into machines. I can tell you that this rabbit hole goes much further than you would first imagine; and it's for the best! In all of modern anime, this is optically discerned as so much more than just a classic. As this hidden gem has became one of the most imbecilic memes of anime. The source material is an emotional rollercoaster that many did not think they would feel. It relishes to make you feel a multitude of raw emotions that is commensurable to other emotion driven animes, such as One Piece, Rascal Does Not Dream of A Bunny Girl Senpai and Highschool DxD (All four seasons!) Here is a prime example of how this anime uses subverted prospects, astonishing scenery and animation: This animation can rival that of MAPPA and uses CGI in such an eye watering manner! Taking CGI animation to the next generation. Another point that is worth mentioning is the intricate character development that takes place within each episode. Despite the short run time of just __one__ minute; it manages to cram enough information to convey to the viewer, details that even some movies would fail to include! With each an every frame being utilized to their full extent with not a single detail sacrificed. Truly an astonishing achievement from the studio and should indeed be praised. With the anime being produced in such a manner, it makes it very easy to follow. It doesn't require much thinking or contemplation at all, the action and animation, being so well produced, easily and effortlessly tells the story! And keep in mind, there is zero dialogue, making this a feat even more impressive! It is additionally worth mentioning that the anime leaves out a few details intentionally! This includes the characters' names of which gives a feeling of mystery and intrigue. Sometimes nescience is a bliss as represented by the potentially traumatized and mute "protagonist" of whom suggests she is not disposed to understand the concepts of the events that unravel in front of her. This can be seen in her very intentional facial expression(s): Reading her emotions are made quite simple; so simple you can almost read her mind! The unlabeled character accommodates as an omen, the type of machinery will denote which omen it is representing and depending on which omen was visually perceived, the character will experience certain scenarios. I never thought that I would be so emotional and shed tears over a sci-fi loli anime, but man, was I erroneous. I cried myself a river and maybe, so will you! #__ Final Words__ All in all, I would recommend this to anyone who is remotely fascinated with anime, this will be regarded as the top anime for decenniums - maybe even centuries! And even if it isn't quite suited to your taste, I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised or even charmed by this underrated art piece. 100/100 groggy1
100/100Mankind will never again reach heights as great as theseContinue on AniListThe entire show can be found here
Ladies and gentlemen. We have done it. Pack it up boys. This is the highest point that we as a species will ever achieve. It’s all downhill from here for humanity. As we rest on our laurels, we will slowly descend into complacency, mediocrity, and irrelevance before ultimately dying not with a bang, but with a whimper so quiet that it will not be heard by anyone or anything. For nobody shall be paying attention to a pathetic civilization such as ours, which is nothing but a fizzling star that will someday fade; a withering flower more akin to the cold dirt it will return to than the vitality it once symbolized.
As the remnants of humanity engage in a doomed struggle against their steady decline, they will cling onto futile dreams of returning to greatness. The last mothers and fathers will tell the last sons and daughters about the grandeur man once held, and then the last sons and daughters will die. They will die full of naïve hope, with stories of our once proud people carved in their hearts. As the final human draws their final breath, they will look up into the sky. And with one last burst of passion, they shall utter a reminder of what we used to be. A final testament to mankind’s glorious, brilliant, and storied past. To its most legendary achievement.
“Henkei Shoujo."
Anyways, Henkei Shoujo is a series of one minute shorts about anime schoolgirls that can turn into various machines. There is no central plot. The choice to make one minute, plotless episodes was genius. It allowed the creators to strip off all the fat that is tacked onto anime nowadays like compelling characters, incestuous little sisters, deep themes, love triangles, and my will to live. What does it leave room for? Cute girls doing Transformers® things.
Each episode stars a different girl that changes into things like a fighter jet or a six armed robot. They use the same song for every transformation scene, which means that if you watch the series in one sitting you’ll hear the same section of a mediocre pop song five times in five minutes. However, I noticed that in episode three they used one of my favourite classical pieces, Gymnopedie No. 1, which elevated that episode to the next level. The Transformers® get one minute of screen time each and have no personality at all. But to make up for it, their bust, waist, and hip sizes were included, which I greatly appreciated. They also sprinkled in a couple tasteless panty shots for us fellas, which was greatly appreciated as well. This show has very few positive qualities, if any.
Overall, I would say that this is a masterpiece of Japanese animation. No, a masterpiece of art. Undoubtedly the magnum opus of mankind.

100/100I have never been hit so hard by something so short and so simpleContinue on AniListI will admit that Henkei Shoujo does certainly look rather odd on the surface and we have all see the clip floating around of a girl turning into a transformer and the other clip of a girl drinking petrol, all one has to do to search up 'Henkei Shoujo' on youtube and you get shown a youtube short with 8.1 million views that has Pewdiepie and Jacksepticeye reacting to a Henkei Shoujo video, but at its core, Henkei Shoujo has an interesting message about society. One that we can all learn from but sadly one that cannot be put into simple words or at least not at the level literacy that I am at. You are just going to have watch the show yourself to realise the messaging.
It's a very short show, only consisting of 5 episodes that are all around 1 minute long but they hit suprisingly hard. They have shaken me to my core. I never thought that I would be saying this about a show like this. Imagine the scene from Ratatouille where the critic eats the ratatouille and goes back to his childhood days. This is me when I watch it but instead I go back to the very roots of humanity the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve once conversed with God. Now, dear reader, you may consider that to be an overexaggeration and it may be but it is just so good and what makes it even more impressive is that there are barely any words spoken. It is a wordless masterpiece that presents its themes solely through the visual medium and for that I applaud it.
The show centres on the lives of some highschool girls which sound rather innocent at first, making you think perhaps along the lines of K-On or Lucky Star, but then you find out their secret. They can transform into vehicles and by golly is it incredible. It has a really interesting mix of 2d and 3d animation, akin to a more archaic version of the Spiderverse movies, but it is very charming and sometimes even incredibly good. Perhaps it is not Ufotable or MAPPA or Kyoto Animation level of good and it certainly does not have the highest budget but you can tell that there was a lot of effort put into it and it pays off really well. Alongside its incredible score that I cannot stop humming (and I even learnt to whistle just so I could bully my sister with it whenever I visited home) and the voice acting is actually pretty good for how little there is (I know I said earlier that there were barely any words in it and, whilst I am correct in saying that, there is still the typical anime girl grunting that goes but it is suprisingly not very cringey nor offputting in comparison to other shows).
All in all, go watch Henkei Shoujo. You will not regret and even if you do, it is only five minutes at the end of the day. There are certainly worse ways to spend five minutes.
