67/100Beyblade is an enjoyable show for younger audience and worth recommending to younger siblings.Continue on AniListSTORY :
- Beyblade begins with a group of boys aspiring to become champions in the Beyblading world.
- However, the story soon expands into different 'arcs', delving into the lives of individual characters and strengthening their bond as a group.
- Friendship takes center stage, subtly highlighting cultural diversity. Although the overused plot of global domination arises, the anime primarily focuses on the power of camaraderie.
- The main protagonists, hailing from different parts of the world, unite to represent Japan, while their encounters during their journey introduce friends from diverse countries and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Beyond its predictable storyline, Beyblade offers themes of friendship and cultural inclusivity, along with a touch of supernatural intrigue through the fascinating bit beasts that pay homage to mythology.
- It's an anime worth watching, especially for those who appreciate fantasy elements.
ART :
- I found the animation to be satisfactory. The artistic style resulted in charming and humorous facial expressions at times.
- I enjoyed observing how the eyes of the entire White Tigers team would change in moments of anger or irritation.
SOUND :
- I wish I could access the original Japanese version of the anime with its untouched music, so that I could form a genuine opinion on it.
- However, being limited to the dubbed version, I have to express that the music doesn't captivate me. It can even become bothersome at times, as the same songs are repetitively used in various battles.
- The soundtrack seems lacking in depth and fails to make a significant impact on the overall show.
CHARACTER :
- In this sports anime targeting a younger audience, the characters possess surprising depths and intricate backstories.
- They transcend their initial one-dimensional appearances, grappling with significant challenges such as betrayal. The majority of characters undergo personal growth, maturing and embracing diversity.
- However, I feel that the central characters, Tyson and his friend Kenny, could have been given more extensive development akin to their teammates. It appears that their primary character arcs are reserved for a future installment, so I can't complain too much.
- Overall, this anime defies expectations by delivering complex narratives and character evolution, making it engaging for viewers of all ages.
ENJOYMENT :
- Beyblade offers a refreshing change from typical intense and mature anime. It may not have an elaborate storyline, but it provides an enjoyable mix of comedy and occasional darker elements.
- I would recommend it as a light-hearted and suitable choice for younger siblings.
