DESCRIPTION
Through their tutor Fuutarou Uesugi's diligent guidance, the Nakano quintuplets' academic performance shows signs of improvement, even if their path to graduation is still rocky. However, as they continue to cause various situations that delay any actual tutoring, Fuutarou becomes increasingly involved with their personal lives, further complicating their relationship with each other.
On another note, Fuutarou slowly begins to realize the existence of a possible connection between him and the past he believes to have shared with one of the five girls. With everyone's feelings beginning to develop and overlap, will they be able to keep their bond strictly to that of a teacher and his students—or will it mature into something else entirely?

80/100The Quintessential Quintuplets - By far one of the best the harem rom/com genre has to offerContinue on AniListNote: This review takes into account both seasons 1 and 2, but does not go over the manga.
The harem rom/com genre has always been in a weird state for me. There always seems to be a big hit show from this genre every five years, yet each one always tends to be a derivative of the one that came before it. The show would hit the anime scene fast and hard, only to fade into obscurity a couple years down the line. None of the shows had any real staying power, and it became really easy to dismiss any show that fell under the genre's umbrella. So when I first stumbled upon The Quintessential Quintuplets during its first season run, I was pleasantly surprised with how fresh the show felt despite the character tropes it initially relied on. It only was during the airing of the second season that it suddenly hit me: The Quintessential Quintuplets is by and far the best the harem rom/com genre has to offer. I know this is quite the claim for such a new show that's barely broken through to the anime mainstream, but The Quintessential Quintuplets hits all the right spots of a show in this genre, but also excels in the worst parts of the genre that a lot of veteran anime fans tend to loathe.
I'm going to skip over the initial setup of the show because honestly, it is relatively standard to other shows in the genre. Our main character is a loner, and through seemingly convenient circumstances he ends up in a situation where he is essentially forced to be around the five main female characters of the show (who happen to be quintuplets). He also conveniently has a past connection to one of the girls, and this girl is the primary motivation to achieve one of his goals. This is how most of these types of shows start, and The Quintessential Quintuplets is no different. Before you roll your eyes and skip this show, trust me when I say that this show is different (like, for real this time). The key differences this show has to its contemporaries is its characterization of its female cast and it's ever shifting status quo. Though these two small things are par for the course in other genres, believe me when I say it elevates the quality of this show above its contemporaries tenfold and it cannot be understated how much of a difference it makes for a show in this genre.
The Quintessential Quintuplets biggest selling point, like many other harem rom/com shows, is its female cast. What separates The Quintessential Quintuplets' female cast from others is actual characterization and character development. The characters feel like they live their own lives, they have their own goals and aspirations, they have their own personalities, and most importantly, they aren't tied down to the main character. Obviously each of them are romantically interested in the main character, but it's highly important they don't just exist for the main character. The show never feels stagnant because of this, and it alleviates the problems a typical show in this genre usually has. On another note, the decision to make the female cast all be sisters might seem fairly pedestrian on the surface, but in hindsight it was genius call. The familial bond that the female cast has is so refreshing. While it's not explored that deep in the show, it made for some interesting, and sometimes heartwarming, moments between the main cast.
Keep in mind that this show is still a harem rom/com so some situations will feel forced and contrived, and it can feel like things are too convenient for them to happen. But these moments never detracted from the show's quality and are negligible at best, and mildly annoying at worst.
I can see The Quintessential Quintuplets being a staple in the harem rom/com genre for years to come and eventually become the gold standard for future shows, and for good reason. It has the right blend of comedy, drama, and slice of life to keep you entertained while also giving you some heartwarming moments along the way. It's the best show to watch if you want to get into the harem rom/com genre, and dare I say, the only one you have to watch.

70/100One of the few animes Harem Rom/com that I likeContinue on AniListContains some Spoilers*
Old manga reader here, Gotoubun is one of those anime / harem that is kind of hard to choose a favorite girl, but in my case I'm Nino Supremacy :)
Despite this season cutting some things in relation to the manga I think it left nothing to be desired, I like how the story of Gotoubun is simple and captivating to read. The characters are one of the strongest points of the work and this season was no different, the characters are charismatic and make the story proceed in a fun way.
Well, many animes end up switching studios in new seasons, but the animation of this second season of Gotoubun was incredible and managed to adapt to the magnificent scenes of the characters declaring themselves, the char design of the characters was really very good!
Ah, I like how the anime fancies the emotions of the characters and all what happened in the last episode;)
Nino: Well, Nino as a whole has always been my favorite character in the work and at the beginning she is quite arrogant in certain situations, but she is a sensitive character who does not know how to show her feelings for her sisters and her development in relation to this season and the manga pleased me a lot,
even though she was not the girl chosen by Fuutarou.I literally love this woman ❤
Ichika / Itsuki: I remember that a lot of people were angry with Ichika about some things that happened in the manga at the time and I didn't see anyone talking about it this season, despite some attitudes she committed I think she is the one I like least about constructions. Along with Ichika, Itsuki is the character that is less than the work, she is not a bad character I think she and Ichika could have been a little more developed.
Miku: Miku is the most relaxed character in the work and that at the beginning I had difficulties to like her, but I think she had a very good evolution and not to mention that her statement was very good.
Yotsuba: Without a doubt with a cheerful and energetic personality, she has a strong tendency to help people. Yotsuba is an active and relaxed girl. She's the type of person who can't say no to people who need help. She is also very well physically and is capable of tasks that her sisters cannot do. She has excellent stamina and is great in sports. She is the only sister with excellent eyesight. She has a good sense of smell and a green thumb. Although she is great at physical activities, she has the lowest score of all her sisters. Yotsuba is the only sister who has accepted Fuutarou from the beginning and supports him wholeheartedly in everything.
Fuutarou: Well, I honestly quite like how he is a very charismatic character and is known for having a great ego and high confidence. He is direct, tactless and rude; but it is really capable of containing your emotions. Despite this, Fuutarou may momentarily lose his composure when agitated and faced with unfavorable circumstances. He also initially did not like to get involved with other people's problems, finding them problematic. Despite his lack of tact and rudeness, he is experienced enough to know what to say in specific situations when thrown at him; rarely giving up when trying to achieve a specific goal. I really like how hard the character is in relation to his studies.
While I was writing this review I saw that they announced a third season and I hope they adapt all the original material :)

80/1005-Toubun no Hanayome One of my favorite Rom-Coms.Continue on AniListEnglish is not my native language, so it may contain some errors.
As a manga reader, I was looking forward to the second season. Although concerned at the beginning, the studio change was very positive, presenting a quality superior to that of the first season.
At the beginning of the season I was worried that they were cutting some things from the manga, but in the end the result was satisfactory. Of course I would like to see some scenes adapted for the anime, but I would say that most were not missed, except for one scene that I will comment on later.
Commenting a little about the Seven Goodbyes Arc, I had Nino as a favorite I liked a lot. because it is the arc where many who hated Nino started to understand and even like her, or at least stop hating her.
I would say that this was the season that showed everyone why I like Nino so much.Throughout all the arcs, we see that little by little each one develops a relationship with Fuutaro, and that the past is also something very important, as we will have a highlight for Rena, the sister Nakano that Fuutarou met in childhood, and also for the older Rena, who meets Fuutarou in the park, and in a cut scene from the anime when he meets her while shopping. And that further ahead we have the disclosure of their identities. The events that are taking place show us an evolution in the sisters' relationship with Fuutaro, in addition to showing us the great bond between the sisters, that despite everything that happened between them, in friendship and rivalry, the relationship between them is still very Strong. Something that we can clearly see in the Kyoto Trip Arc.
I as a person who loves the manga, I had a satisfying experience with the anime, some scenes brought me more impact in the manga and others that in the anime impacted me more, mainly thanks to the seiyuus who did a great job, without forgetting the opening and Finals that they performed, and they are wonderful songs, that I already put in my playlist. Since the first season, I would say that the choices were perfect, they all went very well with the characters.
Overall it was very satisfactory, despite having my complaints, the positives outweigh the negatives, if you haven't read the manga yet, I highly recommend it, for me the anime / manga experience with 5-Toubun is wonderful. Now, with the arrival of the third season, we can see a complete adaptation. I remember that before the second season premiered there was the original ending rumor, but luckily it really was just a rumor, probably created by people frustrated by the end of the manga.
One of my favorite rom-coms.
