A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 Anime Reveals July Debut, New Staff in Video
Kadokawa revealed the cast and staff details, as well as a visual, video, and July premiere on Sunday for the second anime season based on Miki Yoshikawa's A Couple of Cuckoos (Kakkō no Iinazuke) manga. Kadokawa also revealed that 22/7 will perform the new season's ending theme song "Anata de Nakucha" (It Has to be You). The anime will have a mostly new staff, as well as a new studio.Masakazu Hishida (Ensemble Stars!, King of Prism: Shiny Seven Stars, Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection) is the anime's new director at studio Okuru to Noboru. Kyoko Chika (Classroom of the Elite secondary character design) is the new character designer, and Jou Aoba (a penname of Hishida) is overseeing the series scripts. Rei Ishizuka is returning to compose the music at IMAGINE.Other staff members include: The anime will feature a returning cast, alongside a new cast member: Hina Yomiya as Ai Mochizuki.The staff also revealed the character designs for the main characters:Hiroaki Akagi (Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san, Those Snow White Notes) was the chief director of the anime and Yoshiyuki Shirahata (episode director for Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, Great Pretender) directed the anime at Shinei Animation and Synergy SP. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War both seasons, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun) oversaw the series scripts, and Aya Takano (Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san, Polar Bear's Café) designed the characters. Kodansha USA Publishing publishes the manga in English, and it describes the romantic comedy:Yoshikawa (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan) launched the ongoing manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2020.
