OUTSTANDING !

I love how the steampunk style is well represented, the drawing of Nakata is really bluffing in my opinion. About the story and the characters, we really get on with it and the mechanical boxing dimension in this universe is really impressive. I still love characters such as Levius and Dr. Clown and the development of Levius between the very first volume and now is very interesting so I look forward to continuing to learn more about them and other characters that I would not spoil.

One of the peculiarity of this manga if you buy the volumes is that the reading direction is western, even the bubbles are horizontal instead of being generally vertical. To be honest, it was a bit disturbing at first, but you have to admit that having horizontal bubbles makes reading for westerners much more enjoyable.

STORY : 8/10
Story takes place 1 year after the last fight of "LEVIUS" and the main character is finally in a boxing stable and he will do everything to get to the 1st level. I won't say anymore because a lot of exciting events will happen and I hate to spoil even minors details.

ART : 10/10
A very particular style but WHAT A STYLE. The fights are very dynamics and the precision of the drawings fascinates me more and more with each volume. Nakata uses perfectly the computer and software blur to put us in the heart of the action.

Conclusion :
There are 10 volumes out in Japan now and I've only read 6 of them but I am personally a fan of this manga and if you are a fan of boxing, steampunk style or even international plots and conspiracy you will love this manga and its prequel.

Levius (Japanese: レビウス, Hepburn: Rebiusu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruhisa Nakata. The series was published in Shogakukan's Monthly Ikki from December 2012 to September 2014, when the magazine ceased publication. Shogakukan compiled its chapters into three tankōbon volumes. A sequel, titled Levius/est, began in Shueisha's Ultra Jump in April 2015. The manga and its sequel are licensed in North America by Viz Media.

A 12-episode original net animation (ONA) adaptation produced by Polygon Pictures premiered on Netflix in November 2019.
