92/100Love can break all walls - Watch the characters perform a Ballad of Love & Comedy alongside Souls & ReapersContinue on AniList"Remember? We Promised to go on a World Tour together when we were young? And whoever breaks that promise will have their butthole fingered 500 time" Main Story:
The Story starts with the main leads being "Holy Joo" and "Jamie Oh", both with special quirks and undying love for each other. Jamie Oh as a kid, was able to see "souls" of dead people who were unable to move on to the afterlife due to regrets in their life. Due to this, he only had Ghost friends ever since he was a child. He had one human friend and that was Holy but he moved away soon after and never got to see her again.. that is, until he got into Highschool where Holy and Jamie are class fellows.
Holy is the top student of her school, with amazing beauty and an easy-going personality (and inhuman strength) with makes her super popular with the student body of the school. Whereas, Jamie is an introverted, shy and a weird guy who sometimes talks into thin air on his own (he's actually talking to ghosts)
With a few weird turn of events both realize that they're in love with each other and Holy decides to confess to Jamie by giving him a cake on valentines. But to her surprise, the students did not like the beauty of school confessing to some nobody and they did their best to get in the way of the confession by having the school's bully Aaron who's secretly in love with Holy take up the mop and stand in between. Stuff happened-- Holy slipped on the mop, hit her head and passed out. Jamie went pale seeing Holy's soul out of her body. She goes into a coma and doesn't wake up. Jamie tries his best to save Holy and so he summons the "Reaper" from the underworld to save her.The thing is, that Holy was actually supposed to die by that mop and go into afterlife but due to her strong will to live she was still barely alive. The reaper refuses to extend her life span because that is against the underworlds rules. But he makes Jamie an offer, he tells Jamie to "die in place of Holy" that way, he'll leave Holy's soul in her body and take Jamie's instead. At first Jamie agrees, but with a slight turn of events the reaper tells Holy that it is in fact Jamie the one who was supposed to die due to the mop and not Holy (ofc its a lie)and thus he's gonna take Jamie's soul with him. Holy bursts into tears and convinces the reaper not to take Jamie's soul but in return, Holy has to help the reaper remove the regrets of the souls and make them move on to the afterlife with her new found ability of being able to remove her soul from her body at any time she wants to.
Story: 10/10
It's a very great and fun story with somewhat cliche and cheesy romance at times, with cute and wholesome romance threw in it in adequate amounts as well. The comedy was on point (at least for me), the characters were good, the story progressed smoothly with carrying up a slightly-- serious tone at the end.. and the feels were on point for me as well. Yes, it has feels in it as well if you're confused at what I wrote just now lol. And if you're wondering about whether it actually has a "proper" story instead of what's in the synopsis then, yes it does. And believe me it's actually quite good. With proper twists and turns and lies that we believed to be the truth at the start, it goes uphill quite fast as it approaches its end.
Jacob was best boi for me. The next best boi was TR.Character: 8/10
Among characters, I'd say that Jamie was the least developed and my least favorite among them.. his development revolved around Holy and despite being a very very important character in the story, he only did something in the romance and comedy aspect of the story and close to nothing in supernatural..
His love for Holy did grew stronger and his will to live with her as well, but he did/said practically nothing to the people who did the most for him.. (eg Jacob)
I wanted jamie and Ethan to have a nice long talk and forgive each other but that didn't happen.
I wanted Jamie to become friends.. not the best of friends but at least trustworthy friends.. but that didn't happen as well either. But well that's just my personal ranting and not everyone thinks the same about these points.Enjoyment: 10/10
I enjoyed every moment of it and it didn't become boring at all. Some might say that the development is forced and the characters are bland in it, but I honestly think that its because of the style of the story that is why I didn't include that while I was rating this as well.
It carried the mood quite well, with becoming serious at the right time and sad at a good time. The ending made me cry quite a bit as well.. (if it didn't make you cry then don't blame me lol).
The best thing about this was the ending, it ended perfectly with all the knots tied up.
