88/100An Amateur's Review of OjojojoContinue on AniListWell. Here I am, writing my very first review on this site, and it just so happens I chose Ojojojo. I suppose I'll do what everyone else does and break my review up into different sections: Plot, Characters, Art, Overall Enjoyment, and my personal thoughts that you may or may not care about.
Just to be safe, I'll tell you beforehand there will be minor spoilers. Proceed at your own risk. Okay? Alright, let's move on.
Plot: 90/100
The story starts off in a school environment and essentially details the romantic development of the two main characters, Kawayanagi and Haru. As the story progresses, other dynamics, situations, and relationships are introduced, but I'd say a good third of the manga focuses on the two main leads. The plot itself seems like your run-of-the-mill high school romance plot, but read on and you'll actually find it's very original, including some unique twists and turns the author threw in to enhance the story -- which worked out, at least for me.Characters: 86/100
While we do see the case of a classic tsundere (Haru), what I think sets this manga apart from others is the distinct personality of all the characters. Yes, even the side ones. In all reality, this manga does an exceptional job at making you care about other characters aside from the "main" two. Each of the characters fit together really well, and I don't think I read a part where the character's actions or behaviour felt out-of-place and not indicative of their established personalities.Art: 80/100
I'm a sucker for cutesy art, and if you are too, then you'll probably enjoy this more than others. I first found out about this manga through the author himself, since he was also the one behind Kobayashi-San's Dragon Maid (Which was really good), so I decided to try out his other works. Everything, from the background, to the character designs, just absolutely screams "MOE!" to me.We even get a brief cameo from Kobayashi! :D
Only significant downside I can see from the art is that it was too simplistic, which isn't completely true, but I do think the story would be better if the art was a tad more refined and detailed. For the most part though, it's more than adequate.Overall Enjoyment: 96/100
I can personally and truthfully testify that I enjoyed every living second I read this manga. Only reason why it's not a 100/100 is because I was joggling another manga and some anime in addition to this, which likely split my interest for this manga. But then again, whenever I was reading this, you can be damn sure I was having fun.Final Thoughts: I think the 4-koma comic format enhanced the story, but then again, just my opinion. If you either like romance, comedy, cute art, or anything related to the aforementioned genres, I would definitely give this manga a shot. Even for those who aren't fond of these genres, still try it out. It didn't take me too long to finish, and there's no harm in dropping something you dislike.
TL;DR Plot is very good, Characters are very good, Art is good, and I really enjoyed the manga.
Thanks for taking the time and reading my first review! Tips and comments on my reviews are greatly appreciated! :)

60/100Short fun romcom for 3 volumesContinue on AniListFor this review I will be spoiling the First volume (out of 4)
The manga is about a quiet weird boy who mostly has fun by staring into the distance. The other character is this snobby rich kid ohime type. Right she talks like Bow down before your queen peasants as I am your superior. Which is pretty hot but lets not go there. This is the romance comedy about these 2 characters. As well as there budding romance and the effect they have on each other.
The character development in this series is very good Both for the male lead and the female lead. They both retain there core personalities whilst simultaneously changing how they talk, how they act. I wouldn't exactly call it subtle but its more like extremely well paced. Over the course of 4 volumes this happens very very naturally. This is incredibly impressive tbh. And its not just them. The side characters as well grow and you can see that subtle change. In essence it does a good job of not shoving it in your face but at the same time being noticeable and natural.
I also quite enjoyed the romance in this series. This is in fact a dating romance series. The main couple get together by the end of the first volume. Despite this I thought the romance would actually progress more. There relationship does stay more like friends but still in a rather cute way. And there relationship is romantic in nature. There are series where it doesn't feel like the characters are more than friends despite confessing. I'm glad i didn't get this feeling that way.
The comedy is top notch. Jiiya the butler for The female lead is exceptional. He literally says he's doing it to fuck with her its amazing. Quite a few jokes were funny but as long as Jiiya was involved I could not stop laughing. Honestly I loved pretty much everything in regards to Jiiya. This guy was the funniest shit i've seen in a long time. Not just in manga but just in general.
Despite my praise I think the series still falls short which pretty much falls due to the last volume in the series. The last volume isn't good. It separates from the comedic romcomy style and goes more drama and story heavy into the plot. The serious nature of the series does not suit it at all and I was very much not enjoying pretty much the entire last volume. Yes the ending had merit but the damage was done.
I also quite liked the father in the series. He felt like a normal rich dad. I liked how the author inverted tropes here. Which is why the first 3 volumes were so fun. It was never really anything unique but the last volume killed it's chances to be something truly special.
In the end the series does a lot of good things but is actually missing some flair as well. Sometimes the art doesn't look as good and though it is a fun series, you aren't missing anything if you don't read it.
TLDR: Short fun romcom for 3 volumes. 6/10
