DESCRIPTION

Keita is studying hard for a high school entrance test, but his two beautiful elder twin stepsisters are a constant distraction. Though they mean well, Ako and Riko are also extremely sexually assertive and interested in Keita. At first, he fends them off, but little by little, with each kiss, Keita becomes close to both twins until a forbidden love triangle develops. Will taboo-breaking love bloom between two of them... or will Keita at least get into high school?!

10/10 WOULD WATCH AGAIN
Welcome to my review of Kiss x Sis(OVA) and probably the only review this show is going to get on this website as there has not been enough cultured individuals who have seen this show. After finishing the entire series I knew that I had to immediately share my thoughts on this wonderful series that Studio Feel. has graciously shared with the world. Which has now brought me here where I am now writing this review.

Story: 10/10
So basically long story short the anime follows the mega CHAD Keita Suminoe as he gets into some interesting situations with the female cast of the series. With the two main girls of this almost entirely female cast being his sisters Riko and Ako. Now as you watch the show you're going to have to remember that they're not related by blood as the show reminds the audience multiple times throughout every episode.

Characters: 9/10
Now with the main cast of the Suminoe siblings, I thought they were really fleshed out and likable characters. However, the one problem I did have with series's characters were with the other love interests (aka Keita's side chicks). For example, the loli and teacher characters were pretty annoying whenever they showed up and I couldn't find that much enjoyment in any of the scenes they were in compared to the scenes that Riko or Ako were in. If you like these types of character archetypes you'll find satisfaction in these scenes nevertheless I couldn't, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

Art: 10/10
The animations and art were all very well made especially for something that started airing in 2008. All of the art and animations have aged well and the amount of effort put into them by the animators can easily be seen in any of the more sensual scenes. Another plus I have to add is that having seen the TV version of this series which adapts mostly the same things as this OVA version, I can safely say that the OVA version has less censored material. Who can say no to more ecchi action? Heck, that's probably why you're even watching this in the first place.

Sound: 10/10
They really did a good job on the sound design for this series. You could hear each of the voice actors having fun with their lines while also putting 100% effort into the voice acting during the voluptuous scenes. The soundtrack was good and so was the sound quality. The openings and endings were spot on with their music, singing, and visuals and really got you hyped for all the ecchi action the episode was going to present to you.

Final thoughts
Thank you for reading this review of Kiss x Sis, my first and probably only anime review I am ever going to do. I don't really know how to end these so last but not least remember INCEST IS WINCEST, also Riko best girl

Okay, so my last review got taken down because I was "trolling". So, here is my "actual" review.

The way I will be going through my review is by analysing the Opening, Character Development, and Overall Thoughts.

____OPENING____

In regards to the opening, there is not really much that needs to be said. The opening is Balance Kiss by Taketatsu Ayana & Tatsumi Yuiko. When I first came across the opening, I initially skipped it. That being said, I remember coming across the opening in a Spotify Playlist afterwards and happened to really enjoy it, anime openings are quite hard to nail when the genre isn't purely shounen or purely romance. Balance Kiss really hones in on the craziness and creativity that exists in KISSxSIS. Obviously, it doesn't top openings for those like Domestic Girlfriend or Rent-a-girlfriend. However, taking into account the fact that this anime was published in 2010, I think it is fair to say that Balance Kiss is indeed an amazingly suitable OP for KISSxSIS. 

Another thing I would like to touch on about the opening is the colour choice. Again, with regard to the whole anime being as wacky as it is, I feel the need for the opening to be wacky as well, and the colours do just that. Using mainly the colour of Shocking Pink for the hearts that flow across the screen after each scene cut, it is backed up by pale background colours existing of mainly three colours: blue, yellow and pink. This shows a direct correlation to the three main characters: Keita, Riko and Ako; which I think is exquisitely stupendous, if I do say so. Moreover, the impact of having these pale background colours means that the Shocking Pink hearts the flow across the scenes allow for the viewer to focus on the scenes and the scenes only which shows incredible craftsmanship for the opening. So, kudos to Feel Studio for this amazing experience.

I think it is fair to say that each of the three main characters got an equal amount of screen time, so their character development cannot be correlated with the screen time that they obtained.

Keita is introduced as a timid and shy teenager often being towered over compared to his twin step-sisters. In terms of character development, we do see a lot coming from him. We see an amazing sense of maturity coming out of him and we come to understand that although he acts studious and tries his best with the academic side of school, he is more of an athlete. This is, ultimately, what causes him to be admitted into high school. We also learn that Keita has strong thoughts for his sisters the more we delve into the storyline. 

We also see relationships building with characters such as Toda Edogawa, Miharu Mikuni, Yuzuki Kiryu and Mikazuki Kiryu

Overall character development, for me, is a 4.0/5

Often seen as the more hornier of the twins, Riko is more often than not, seen with a plaster/bandage on under her left eye: it is made unclear why this is, however one can assume it is due to the fights that she and Ako get into. Riko is seen as the less academic of the two sisters, tending to also get the lowest grades out of the three siblings. Although, she is more active than Ako and helps out sports training from time to time. We also learn that she is an abhorrent cook and displays this with phenomenal effect when she and Ako are both cooking for Keita. In school, she is the head student, often we see Riko use this to her own benefit, seeking out opportunities to use her hierarchal powers to isolate her and Keita for her own pleasure. Further adding to the idea of being the hornier of the two sisters.

Overall character development, for me, is a 4.2/5

Ako is seen as the more mature, intelligent, and mother-like twin compared to Riko. Ako is the smartest among the three siblings, often scoring higher than Keita and Riko in grades. She is the more superior cook, cooking for herself, Riko and Keita whenever Mr and Mrs Suminoe are not present in the household. We learn that Ako can be very-embarrassed quite easily when she and Riko compare each other to Keita, later on becoming over-emotional when Keita becomes uninterested in them after competing for him. Ako is the general manager of the school council, and like Riko, uses her authority to get close to Keita from time to time. As we watch more and more, we understand that Ako acts relatively more childish near Keita than away from him, compared to Riko being childish all the time. She is also self-conscious when it comes to marks on her body, often not wanting marks of sexual activity seen in areas of her body that are public, such as the neck.

Overall character development, for me, is a 4.2/5

____OVERALL THOUGHTS____

KISSxSIS is an anime that has really taken me by surprise. I could go into more detail however that would take quite a while. I do enjoy the craziness that it brings and the stir-up of emotions as well. However, with only a limited number of episodes and one season, I do think that it is cut quite short. Of course, if I include the OVA, 24 episodes is a healthy amount. I could also go into more detail about the relationships that Keita is wound up in, including those of Yuzuki and Miharu, but I believe that going over the three main characters is the best for this review. Overall, this is probably one of the more enjoyable TV shows I have gotten to watch.

Anime and manga exist in a realm of fiction, Fiction being

The category of literature, drama, film, or other creative work whose content is
imagined and is not necessarily based on fact.

Thus unless specified that they are based on an actual occurance
or historical event that took place, they are not real.

Through this medium we are provided with a means to
experience and view that which we could never realistically dream of seeing in our day to day lives.

It's the reason that Movies, Anime and Manga contain genres and tropes like;

Gore, Murder, Super Powered fight scenes, Visiting whole other worlds with their own cultures and sub cultures,
time travel, visiting another world but this time they have a smart phone,

King Arthur who is actually a female, fighting a battle to the death with hercules
who is a giant hulking monster that formed a bond with a little girl over the immense
pain they both experienced... and having friends.

I will always be greatful to Anime and Manga, and just fiction in general for giving me so many unique experiences,
varied in stories, art styles, characters, media that I can just allow myself to get lost in and sink deep into
even just for fractions of time so I can escape reality and forget that I need to go out and get a job.

It also gave us Lolis.
You can be the judge of whether I see that as a positive or negative.

So you might be asking, well why... why am I giving you this deep speech on fiction, sprinkled with little
unoriginal jokes like this one?

Funny lol

[Kibun2]
It all began when Bou Chitama released his first work, Super Love Potion. There's actually.. not a lot I can
find out about this besides the fact that it's definitely yuri and it's definitely hentai probably.
BUT his SECOND work actually did get an OVA series, and that second work was... Kibun2. And what can
I say, It wasn't hugely popular, in fact it only has 138 users who completed it and 93 planning on anilist. But we could
also count those who had too much adhd to finish a 2 episode season but we won't.

Although I would be counted as 0.5 among them for watching at 2x speed.

Kibun is not on any of the anime sites that I tried to DEFINITELY LEGALLY WATCH IT ON- ok that's overused. It wasn't on any of the
piracy sites I use. And that's when I realized, oh. This is a hentai. And there it was.
It's... actually not terrible. It's more of a romance comedy, than a hentai. In fact one of the episodes doesnt really
have all that much "stuff".

It's not great, not bad either. The characters are actually quite cute and some of their interactions come off as
actually kinda wholesome. But the main guy fucking sucks. And the SIDE CHARACTERS LIKE DAMN some of these girls need their own hentai spin-off.

[Mahoromatic]
NEXT! After Kibun Bou would go onto create something even better, and break even more boundaries, he would go
to the next level. And this is where we get to... Mahoromatic.

Ahh Mahoromatic... the show about Maids, Nudity, Teachers... R-Robots? A.... Aliens?! THE FUCKING MILITARY?

This was his first "hit" although it wasn't actally written by him, he just did the art. But that doesn't change the
fact that this one is actually somewhat popular with 4k people planning and another 4k who have already seen it.

I don't really wanna get into this one seeing as it's a 12 episode long anime with a second season of the same length
so I'm not going to watch it but, if it looks like your thing hey, go check it out. It has an average score of 7 to 8
so maybe you'll get something out of it.

[Kiss X Sis]
Kiss X Sis. Pronounced Kiss Sis. As in. Kissing your fucking sister. As in Inces-

Kiss x Sis is kind of a masterpiece. It's iconic, and stands up there with the best of the best like Berserk. Vinland
Saga and Black Clover.

If you have seen Kiss Sis you probably watched it out of order.
If you didnt watch it out of order then you most likely work at nasa (Fuck you i work at nasa)
because you need a degree in fate lore to watch the series in the correct order.
Because yes. Kiss x Sis has a watch order chart.

Basically there's 2 versions of Kiss X Sis anime. The OVA which... gets real deep and raw into what the manga wishes it
was. And the TV version that tones down the manga and is a bit more tame. So basically there's a right and wrong way to
experience kiss x sis. The wrong way is by not reading or watching it. and the correct way is by not reading or watching it.

The OVA I think is the clear winner in this situation, it literally takes every reason that you're reading it and amps itself
up to 11 on a scale of 5. It is... absolutely.. fucking... great. I loved it. It is genuinely painful to watch at times but
the characters do actually grow. They're not static. Within the first few episodes/chapters they start to actually develop.

Keita, goes from a guy who sees his sisters as just that, sisters. Into viewing them more as women. And instead of freaking
out and objecting to their advances, he slowly realizes that he does love his sisters and doesn't just want them to go
around getting together with random guys... i can't believe i said thats fucking character development.

What the fuck am i doing.

After realizing this,
he decides that he's going to try and get into his sisters school, instead of taking it easy and using his scholarship for sports.
So he studies hard. Like really hard. Harder than he gets when his sisters rock up into his room and say itadakimasu.

Now the episodes... they really like to push the limits of what they can do. I think they made it a point to get even more
degenerate with every single episode. And they did not fail.

Essentially they power scaled degeneracy. Instead of super saiyan goku god 4 we have... his sisters riding a fake doll of their
brother that they put together with his bed sheets, a teddy bear and a fucking marker pen.

Long story short Keita gets into their school and things are all fine and dandy, but then they remember... oh yeah, we've done
like everything we can with the sisters... what do we do now?

WE GOT THE LOLI. WE GOT THE ONE WITH THE GLASSES. HIS TEACHER WANTS TO FUCK HIM NOW I GUESS.

And they probably add more as the manga goes on. At the time of this review kiss x sis ended pretty recently. but the
ova and anime series only adapted 64 out of 160 or so chapters. And so I decided to pick up the manga.

Judge me all you want, at least I know what I like.

Kiss X Sis doesn't have much going for it, it's incredibly simple. You have the Keita, Ako and Riko, and side characters. Put
them all together you get stupid harem comedy that we've seen hundreds of times over. But for some reason I found myself really
liking the cast. Seriously, genuinely liking them. They do kind of have their own personalities, their designs aren't half bad
and pretty much everyone gets their own time to shine. Even the Loli character is pretty cool. And his Teacher well let me just
say, Teacher I hardly know 'er! HAHAHA

[Final Thoughts]
If incest makes you uncomfortable then skip it. If you like it, then give it a shot. If you don't really know? Give it a shot.
I don't even like Slice of life or romcom anime but this genuinely pulled me in by the strength of it's characters and
absolute absurdity.

if you only want to watch one season,
go with the OVA. It takes everything much further than the manga so if you end up liking it then you'll enjoy the manga.

Overall, yeah. I'd say I like the series. I can't compare it to other shows that actually have deeper stories or hype moments.
I can't compare it to Silent voice, Psycho-Pass or Hunter x Hunter. But what I can compare it to. Is oreimo. And I like oreimo too.
