24/100Jesus-Duck vs. Austrian-Painter-Crow in Safespace-Land (It's terribe)Continue on AniListOut of all the anime of my childhood that I watched during the golden time of anime, this one must be by far the worst (despite Sailor Moon, probably). Hope that triggered you enough for the beginning.
I will try to explain now, in all seriosity (mostly) and all objectivity, why this show is not only very bad but propaganda for kids (!)
Alfred J. Quack (wow, so creative) is some kind of Jesus, reborn as an animal. He can never do wrong in any way, always has the moral highground against all living and non-living beings, his only thought about life and life-goal is to aggressively help people (unasked) and lecture them (even more unasked) with a blank stare in his dead eyes.
Alfred is white as a snowman and after the death of his parents (in the first minutes, for no other reason than plot), he is raised by a brown mole who is also a one-dimensional goody two shoes and only exists in order to make the point "f*ck your family, everybody can "raise" you, even if they don't look anything like you and don't understand your culture and you'll be bullied for it".
The show is generally obsessed with race and racial issues (did I tell you that this is a kids show?). Later on, Alfred will have a relationship with a female black/brown duck who looks ridiculous (imagine a duck with a afro wig, my god). That character also doesn't have a personality but of course serves the overall "message".
At this point it's at least some pretty unexpected plot-twist that Alfred is straight and not gay/trans.But all of that is still not enough. They still didn't feel like they drove their point home several times. There is ANOTHER character, a male crow who is very proud to be a crow (and not a low duck) but in all actuality he's just a half crow and half another kind of bird which he tries to hide. Later on, he will be politician and he founds a party that discriminates "lower" birds/animals and shows many similarities to an actual german party (no, I'm not joking).
They are obsessed enough to try to scare kids with literal bird h!tler. Funny enough, they depict the austrian painter as some lonely anti-hero who just went through some rough times and has low self-esteem, lol.
Not to talk about the shows discrimination agains crows (who already have a bad reputation) or cats. So, there isn't really any story, the animations are 60's sunday morning cartoon style at best and the opening/theme song might be the most annoying pre 2000's song ever made. If some BLM person ever threatens you, just show them that you watched this and you're a certified ally now.
Really, there are tons of kids shows about animals, and even anime, that isn't obsessively trying to teach kids "critical race theory".
