DESCRIPTION
30 young men and women who came together on a shady bus tour. The tour's destination: an illusive, possibly nonexistent village called Nanakimura. In Nanakimura, one can lead a utopian existence, free of the world's obstacles … or so it was rumored, like an urban legend.
"In despair over the real world ... wanting to escape the tedious daily life … wanting to restart your life from scratch …"
The bus headed deep into the mountains, carrying 30 people each harboring their own expectations and wounds in their hearts…
And so, the place these 30 arrived at, was an uninhabited village with the lingering faint scents of life, even though it was falling apart.
What is the truth of Nanakimura facing the 30? You can't miss even one episode!

20/100Story about bad execution of not so bad ideaContinue on AniListMayoiga review A lot of things in Mayoiga are bad, most of them are awful and one is good. Let's skip the banana and let's get right into the ananas. In other words, I won't waste our time with detailed complaints, so we will go through the bad shit fast.
Characters are better of dead. Unlogical and empty. Spotting the main character in the first scene was just as easy as I predicted. Just focus on the most usual and ordinary brunette guy and yay! It's him! There is very few good aspects of the characters. They are not funny and especially not deep, I was not able to relate to them at all. What did I say? Very few? There are NO good aspects. Case closed.
Story doesn't know in which direction it wants to go. From lighthearted slice of life to mystery to horror, back to mystery and then to romance - in any way and even in my highest spirits and unbeatable optimism all I can say that was good were rare exciting events, mostly in the early episodes. Ending did not bring any mindblowing facts and plot twists, not even any backstory is worth mentioning. Nah.
The music is just like our protagonist - boring and once you've watched the 12th episode, you'll immediately forget everything about it. On top of it all, the animation is nothing to brag about. The monsters are of a laughable quality and the artstyle is rather annoying - but that is just a matter of a taste.
So, where is that one good thing about this anime? It's the concept. The pure idea, the skeleton of the plot, the base. How people react to reality's brutality, mental disorders and psychological scars, how trauma can take a form and haunt person down. The execution was poor. But the thought? I'd have loved to see this done. Just totally differently.
In the end, there is not much to be said. Anime as a whole was disappointment. Every attempt to create the right atmosphere despperately failed. Even then I held expectations for shocking reveals in the last episodes which did not come to happen. As plain as it started it ended.

90/100Mayoiga isn't bad, it's just differentContinue on AniListMayoiga isn't bad, is different.
Mayoiga is a "weird" anime, clearly not intended for any public. If you plan to see it, skip this review, I will talk about the entire series and my general point of view after I have seen it. It will have spoilers.
In the first place, the audience it is aimed at is a public with a depressive tendency, this is the clear case of Japan, being one of the countries with the highest suicide rate. This is why some of the people who see it here do not quite understand how it can be so "bad".
No, it's not bad, you just don't know how to understand it.
It is impossible to deny that it has a large number of characters and most do not have any type of development:
The coumple in love end... exactly the same?!
What happened to the one with the heels and who remembers her?
And with the 3 Yuunas?
Also at some points it stops being interesting and loses all that mystery in the series about what happens or what happened in that town.
basically since it is discovered what the Nanakis areDespite this, the series' story is perfect dealing with the issues it wants to address. As I mentioned before, it deals with part of the problems that lead to depression. That feeling of wanting to flee and start a life from scratch, stop paying attention to those problems that have plagued you for years and can simply escape from them. It seems like a utopia, but what this series really tries to do is make you see that you have to learn to live with your past and your problems, learn from them and try to prevent them from happening again. At the end of the day, our experiences are part of us and that will always be the case. That is the message of the series.
Clearly this series is not going to be your medicine to deal with depression but it is already more useful than all those anti-depression ads that sometimes all they do is play down the issue or treat it as if it were much worse than in reality is (as in those cases that believe that by having depression you want to commit suicide).Returning to the topic of the previous spoiler, The Nanakis are the personification of those traumas that the characters have and the only 2 ways to overcome them are to escape and lose the years of life that managed to create those traumas (as seen with Kami-sama) or by accepting them and living with them knowing that to Although they had made your life impossible, now you are different and you can face them (the case of those who left on the bus). Even so, there is also that 3rd option within the series, which is to continue ignoring them until you disappear (transferred to reality as suicide) or decide to do the 2nd option.
In short, the series is not primarily about its history, but about its teaching. That is why I think it is different, not a bad series without coherence (that I do not take away part of the reason) It has a much greater message for those who are able to see it before having read this review because how you are really going to understand them is when you you realize, not when they explain it to you.
