60/100Not the worst Surreal Comedy out there.Continue on AniList[
I don't even know anymore ]()I'll probably not review Teekyuu again unless (like now) I run out of things to review for the "Bad Week". (I review something I liked then next week something I disliked).
[PREMISE OF THE SHOW:]()
Teekyuu is a Surreal Comedy and it makes sure you know that.
The animation, characters, and even the music scream it at you. Its so weird and wacky.Originally teekyuu was supposed to be a Tennis club show but there is less Tennis and more logic defying and plot twisting moments.
I honestly don't really know what to say about Teekyuu, I like my Surreal Comedy but this is A LOT. Its not as bad as Pop Team Epic in my opinion cause this can be really funny at times. One of my biggest turn offs to this show is the fact that its so god damn fast, one season is 24 minutes.
[CHARACTERS:]()
There are only 4 mains:
Yuri Oshimoto - The most SANE person in the whole show, she just wants the club to play Tennis and be good at it. Honestly I felt sorry for her xd
Kanae Shinjou - If you asked her to jump off a bridge cause there is 5p there she would probably do it. She is small and yet full of energy, also older than the first Main I mentioned.
Nasuno Takamiya - She is incredibly rich. If any issue arises she will just pay to get it fixed, even if its quite impossible.
Marimo Bandou - Her favourite dish is undies. She is the biggest pervert the world has seen. Honestly, what the f*ck. But she's voiced by Kana Hana so she is good.[ART/ANIMATION:]()
The animation is, well it surely is something. The provided gifs show it well.
It mostly consists of these "choppy" frames, to be honest I don't really mind this though. It kinda adds to the surreality of the show (if you catch my drift there). Also the first gif I showed is cute so thats a bonus in my book.[MUSIC:]()
Well the OPs are really catchy.
I honestly listen to them quite often not gonna lie.
Nothing much I can add here.[OVERALL OPINION:]()
Teekyuu is Teekyuu, its weird, fast, and surreal.
I have mixed opinions on it, it can be funny but also flops especially with its HYPER SPEED. Jumping from joke to joke.Okkayoo
80/100goofy tennis shenanigansContinue on AniListThis show is about tennis. ...That about sums up what this show is supposed to be about.

...I guess I'll just write more then.
Anyways, Teekyu (I think it's pronounced "Tay~Kyuu") is going to be my first ever review and I think that's kinda cool. So, Teekyu is basically about four girls practicing to get better at tennis, at least that's what it's supposed to be about. The first thing I want to talk about is how FAST the whole show is. I had to rewatch the entire show in 0.75x the normal speed and it was still too fast to comprehend like just watch this:
There is no way I can personally handle this sort of speed, I mean I have to constantly switch my eyes back and forth from the anime and the subtitles at the literal speed of light. Not to mention the amount of random shenanigans thses girls be getting into - one second they could just be sitting in class having a normal conversation then I blink and suddenly they start single-handedly fighting a bear (I don't know if they actually did that - but I could be wrong). Some bozo was probably just bored one day and decided to kidnap a bunch of under-payed animators to make this, and you can tell they were all smoking something. Anyways I'm actually going to proffessionally review the show now.
Plot? I know most of you want to know what the juicy plot is. Well me too. To be perfectly honest I did not pay much attention and for that I apologize. I kinda felt like I was having a fever dream.
y'know what lets just skip this section...
Characters There's at least four of them, firstly there's a purple hair one that kind of reminds me of Tohka from DateALive if you know what I'm sayin'.
There's also a brown hair girl, I forgot what she does but she's alright I guess.
The blue haired girl is Manima (Edit: I read it on anilist and it's actually Manimo) and she has a strange habit of consuming panties even though I wouldn't recommend consuming fabric and cotton - we don't judge.
Don't get me started on the pink haired girl she gives me the urge to explode. The pink one is definitely the most hyper character of the four. The first few minutes of playing tennis she gets tired then starts melting before literally phasing through the fricking floor (IDK but I think that breaks a few laws of physics but I wouldn't know I failed my physics exam).
So, should you watch it? Short answer: no
Also short answer: why not
The show has 12 episodes that are only two minutes each - you're not really wasting much time here. If you do the math that's only 24 minutes long for the entire season not to mention a quarter of each episode is just the song. I personally rate it 8/10 don't ask why but a lot of my ratings are kind of random. Thankyou for scrolling this far have a nice day/night :)
