10/100A lazy ripoff of SSS-Class Suicide Hunter with bad writing, weak art, and dull characters. Not worth your time. 1/10.Continue on AniListReview: The SSS-Rank Hunter’s Lucky Draw
Story: 1/10
I don’t even know where to start with this one. From the very first chapter, it’s painfully obvious that this manhwa is trying way too hard to be SSS-Class Suicide Hunt- er. And by “trying,” I mean straight-up copying. It doesn’t just take inspiration—it lifts entire concepts, throws them in a blender, and spits out a weaker version of a story that already exists.
The protagonist? A carbon copy of the SSS-Class Suicide Hunter MC, just with all the personality sucked out. The world? Feels like someone took the original setting, changed a few names, and called it a day. The power system? Basically the same, but somehow even less interesting. There’s no originality here—just a bunch of recycled ideas, and none of them executed well.
I honestly don’t get why this even exists. If you’re going to borrow heavily from a successful series, at least try to do something new with it. But no, this is just a lazy knockoff that adds nothing of value.
Art: 2/10
If the story wasn’t bad enough, the art makes it even worse. It’s clear they were trying to mimic SSS-Class Suicide Hunter’s style, but they didn’t quite have the skill to pull it off. Character designs look unfinished, the backgrounds are flat and empty, and the action scenes feel stiff as hell.
And the shading? Barely there. Lighting? Minimal effort. Some panels literally look like rough drafts that somehow made it to the final version. The whole thing just feels rushed, like they were more focused on cranking out chapters quickly rather than actually making it look good.
Then there’s the facial expressions—or lack thereof. Characters are supposed to react to things, right? Well, not here. Everyone either looks blank or just slightly annoyed, even in moments that are supposed to be emotional or intense. Combine that with awkward paneling and clunky movement, and you get a visual experience that’s just as weak as the writing.
Characters: 1/10
You ever see one of those cheap knockoff action figures that kind of look like the real thing but feel totally off? That’s exactly what the characters in this manhwa are like.
The main character is just a stripped-down, personality-free version of SSS-Class Suicide Hunter’s protagonist. He follows the same path, deals with similar struggles, and somehow manages to be even less interesting. There’s nothing new about him—just a copy of a much better character with all the depth removed.
The side characters aren’t any better. They feel like placeholders—generic, forgettable, and completely lacking in chemistry. Their relationships don’t develop naturally, and their interactions feel stiff and forced. There’s no real emotional weight to anything that happens between them. It’s like watching a bad drama where you know the characters are supposed to care about each other, but you just don’t feel it.
Dialogue: 1/10
Bad dialogue can ruin a story, and this manhwa is full of it. Conversations feel so stiff and unnatural that it’s almost painful to read. Either the characters are spitting out generic, forgettable lines, or they’re dumping exposition like a Wikipedia page.
There’s no wit, no charm, no actual personality in the way anyone talks. It just feels like filler—words for the sake of words, with no real impact on the story or character development. Honestly, I found myself skimming through most of the dialogue because none of it felt worth reading.
Final Verdict: 1/10
I really can’t recommend this to anyone—especially if you’re a fan of SSS-Class Suicide Hunter. This isn’t just a bad manhwa; it’s a soulless, low-effort cash grab that does nothing but recycle a better story in the laziest way possible. The writing is uninspired, the characters are forgettable, the art is weak, and the dialogue is just plain bad.
If you’re looking for a solid manhwa with a great story, interesting characters, and good artwork, do yourself a favor—skip this and just go read SSS-Class Suicide Hunter instead. Trust me, you’re not missing anything.
