32/100Absolutely never watch this. Not even worth hate watching.Continue on AniListHey, this will obviously have spoilers. Don't worry! You're not missing out.
Bring me back to the year 2010, because that's when this should have released. 6 LOVERS is a 6 part OVA, with each short part featuring a one shot of a different story. Soft Garage brought this to us ten years too late - and with their previous entry in the Boy's Love genre being I Shall Never Return, which has a 44% score, I did not have high hopes for this OVA. I was correct. This series features stories from 6 different manga: Renai Rubi no Tadashii Furikata, Kuroneko Kareshi no Aishikata, ZE, Ten Count, Candy Color Paradox, and Hey, Class President!.
Just so you know, I have not read the stories behind this OVA (and watching this made me not want to).The first story adapted is Renai Rubi no Tadashii Furikata. This episode is actually not bad. Natsuo has to introduce his boyfriend Hiro to his sister before he moves into Hiro's house. Natsuo's protective older sister is harsh on Hiro, causing Natsuo to worry. He goes outside to smoke it off, where Hiro and Natsuo have a short moment of reflection.
This episode does the most it can with its short run time, it is not bad. Not good either. Nothing of substance happens and the episode barely takes itself seriously.
6.5/10The second episode is an adaptation of Kuroneko Kareshi no Aishikata. Does it count as zoophilia if the cat can shapeshift? Anyways, Shingo is a man that can turn into a black cat when he wants to. He wanders into Kakami's lap, where Kakami subsequently pins him down and begins to feel his cat body up, playing with his cat nipples. Shingo transforms back into a human to tell him to stop.
Cut to the next scene, time has passed. Kakami starts to mess with Shingo's cat nipples again despite him telling Kakami not to previously. Shingo turns into a human again to tell him off. Cut to the next scene, Shingo is talking about his (presumably, due to its location) wedding ring. "What will happen if I remove it? Not that I wanted to, anyways," Shingo says. Kakami takes this opportunity to pin him down again and start fondling his chest.
One good thing about this episode is that they are able to cram in this much action into about 4 minutes. That's where the good ends. Kakami has a clear disrespect forhis pet? his lover?Shingo. I hate the "oh, he's saying stop, but that's just because he's a tsundere!" stuff that happens in this short.
2/10The third episode is an adaptation of ZE. This episode is about flower seeing and things you can do under a tree. Genma takes his boyfriend flower seeing. Himi, Genma's boyfriend, is presumably sad that Genma is drinking beer as they watch the flowers. This causes an anime flashback, then Genma randomly feels super romantic and kisses Himi. Their intimate time evolves from there. Afterwards, they Himi lays on Genma's lap, telling him how he wants to watch the flowers every year with him.
2/10
The fourth adaptation is Ten Count. Shirotani and Kurose are walking and talking about when Shirotani's OCD will be cured. Shirotani's OCD causes him to not want to touch other people.
I'm not an expert, but I don't think it can be completely cured. Odd, whatever.Kurose says "i'm an android" and Shirotani believes him. Shirotani, believing Kurose is not a person, touches him. Kurose tells the truth, he's a person and not a robot. He grabs Shirotani's arm to apologize despite knowing he likely does not like to be touched and despite Shirotani telling him to let go, he does not.I have heard terrible things about Ten Count incorrectly portraying mental illness, but I still was excited for the movie that was set to release. However, that was cancelled. I guess this is the only adaptation we get, which sucks because the animation is noticeably worse in this episode than the first three. The fact Shirotani is gullible enough to believe Kurose says one of two things: he's either stupid or he trusts Kurose a lot. In the case the trusts Kurose a lot, why would you trust someone that doesn't even respect your boundaries?
4/10The fifth adaptation is Candy Color Paradox. Literally all that happens is they get freaky. The two dudes hear some girl getting plowed, it gets them in the mood, they have sex.
0/10
The last adaptation is of Hey, Class President! Kokusai and Chiga are walking home, Kokusai wants to kiss Chiga, they take a detour to watch a romance movie, they're walking home when they want to do PDA, they start kissing, that's it. This short has so little plot that I will not even include a screenshot.
I had a bad taste in my mouth already after I watched the Hey, Class President! two part OVA, where all they did was have sex. The animation in this short is just as bad as the fourth episode. Not much to say with this one, but somehow this is the best episode.
6/10
The effort spent on this 6 part OVA series should have been spent on the Ten Count movie. Italy from Hetalia would not approve.
