80/100A Thrilling Other World of Satisfying ConclusionsContinue on AniListAnd now it's done. My journey that is. It's crazy how fast my journey was. I know others could do it 100 times faster but still I was addicted to this manga. I would try reading other stuff but I just kept coming back to it. It felt like home, I already love pokemon so much so for me this really was something special. But regardless I should probably move on since this is a review of a single arc and not the manga as a whole. This was a great end to the sinnoh saga as I'd like to put it. I can't really say much it just delivered. Really sad how impactful this is due to all the let's say troublesome endings of other adventures arcs. I'm so glad a consistent quality was met all throughout this journey. Every plot point and character journey came together beautifully. The battle frontier from the get go was already more engaging than its emerald counterpart which sucks for that arc but I'm glad lessons were learned for this arc. Are trio dexholders are as good as ever as is or should be expected by now. Cyrus takes a turn I never would of expected but makes me so happy. Dia's interactions with Cyrus are quite possibly the best hero villain dynamic in this manga. Dia is an absolute legend and I am sad I wasn't expecting much from him before I started. Yeah but... There isn't much else to say. I have pretty much zero issues apart from I am a bit unclear of what happened to Sird, since I am pretty sure she doesn't appear again her ending just left me confused though it is entierly possible I just forget or missed something. Either way this arc was great. The distortion world was handled better than I could have imagined and while it is sad we never fully returned to the trio dynamic I loved so much I must admit it was absolutely what was needed for the plot so it works. But to go back to the battle frontier real quick, it's use was genius. Sorry to hate on the emerald arc again (I do like it but it had some problems), the frontier brains were unlikeable and felt unconsequentle to emerald's arc. Here they all benefit Platinum. Either developing her, testing her in flaws that use game mechanics very well and just by having defined personalities. Just a good cast all around. So overall as I finally end my journey through this great manga all I can say is I love this world. There are many less than stellar arcs in this manga series but with it going on so long how can I really be so harsh on that fact. So many fantastic moments, characters and stories came together throughout this long tale and I for one can't wait to continue reading this excellent manga for the coming years. Thank you Pokemon Special, and thank you all that worked on this manga, I'll miss all the great dex holders and especially the dexholders of this fine arc: Dia, Pearl and Platinum!
