DESCRIPTION
The third season of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun.
The Daihasei Festival has begun, and that of course means that Tokiwadai Middle School—a prestigious all-girls' middle school—is competing too. Despite the participation of the "Ace of Tokiwadai," Mikoto Misaka, the other students who are participating are still putting their utmost effort into winning, no matter how impossible the feat may seem against her might.
However, not all is fun and games. Due to the festival, Academy City opens to the outside world, and various factions have begun plotting ways to infiltrate the city. Misaka appears to be on their radar, and as the festival proceeds, people lurking from the shadows begin to emerge...
Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T brings back the Tokiwadai Ace and her friends as they dive deeper into the dark side of Academy City. From terrorist attacks to ruthless underground projects, anything is possible in this city.

100/100if I was a member of IGN team I would say "it has a little something for everyone" ;)Continue on AniListAs someone who watched all seasons and spin-offs of Toaru series (AKA Raildex) I can say for sure that it has many ups and downs and by the time I'm writting this review I believe Railgun T is highest peak of Series, without being nitpicking and biased I'm going to discuss about positive and negative points of Railgun T.
Discalimer : to make the review a little more rational I'll constantly will compare RT to its predecessors RS and Index series or some other, I DO NOT mean that those animes are bad by any means.
First things first, let's talk about Characters, just like Index Series, Railgun has a lots of characters with their even far more unique personalities but unlike Index series it will not throw any of older characters to trash can and keep a focus on newer characters which eventually will have the same fate, for ex:
Aisa Himegami is one of important, or if I can say so a popular characters which has a total useless part in seires now, and that is just because her arc is over, so is her entire roll.
but at the other hands, even far less popular and important characters in Railgun T, which you even may not recall them from previous Railguns has a decent roll in new season like Kinuho Wannai and Maaya Awatsuki. while most animes fails to deliver this level of character creation they either emphasise or totally forget side characters, but in railgun T you can still easily say who are main characters, while side characters are still getting enough attention.Second thing second, art style of anime is a marvel in 2019/2020. okay hear me out in this one, while most animes out there even Index III or Accel hard-try their way through a wierd and bad looking 3D-esh-like art style, which make absolutely no sence AT all, or at the other hand some anime has a realy old-looking and crappy art style, railgun T is one a few animes out there which still keep the very essence of an anime and have an up-to-date visuals for a 2020/2019 anime. for EX : as someone who really love monogatari series, I have to say I never liked style of it specially kizumonogatari, it is not an anime style if you put wierd 3D and real life objectives.
Third thing third, lets talk about art of creation, to be more specific, making a good story is hard, but how to tell it is the important part. Story progress is times harder than story creation. a really good story can be unbrearable with a bad story telling and it's work the other way around too. at a first glimpse Railgun T story may sound familiar repetitive, but how they deliver it and make different events make it realy smooth. for another EX : index stories are always more complicated and have more depth to them, but the way it is told is like someone want to make people confused on purpose. while railgun take you through ride like train, slow at begining with a proper acceleration. Railgun T embrace all it can and represent them in a smooth way which you will neither get lost or confused.
Last things last, for first time in my life I'm considering fan-servis a positive point, well let's say if you are watching laid-back camp and lucky star you know you are watching best CGDCT animes out there so you expect fan-servis, but if you are watching a action an serious anime (at least for me) I like that it have a full focus on story not stupid fan-servis. but the way which railgun T using fan-servis I can say for 100% is by far the best in animes, this is some how the way which Final Fantasy 7 did it. without making it obivous it uses character cuteness to make amazing fan servis. for last EX : I watched 6 seasons of toaru series and I've never even notice Pierce Aogami but right now he is my fav male character :).
that's it, I hope this review was usefull to you.

89/100Undoubtedly, the best of the entire franchise (so far).Continue on AniListhttps://anilist.co/anime/104462/A-Certain-Scientific-Railgun-T/ I've always wanted to like this series so much. I liked the world and the scientific lore of Raildex series, but there are many problems for me with the previous installments. Both Index and Railgun had always had pacing issues with one being too fast and the other being awfully slow. Except this season, which is probably the highest point the Anime franchise has ever come to, so far.
When compared to other seasons, the animation is improved which shouldn't be a surprise considering it took 7 years to get a third season but still, much better. The plot & the consistency of it got really better, unlike other seasons where we got some moe SoL moments spread across all over the plot. Now to the main thing.
The series still follows same pattern as the previous seasons during their main events.- You get introduced to a new character(s);
- The new character introduces to the main conflict of the arc;
- The pre established characters, both main and side characters gets involved in the conflict;
- Final PayOff.
This formula repeats throughout the franchise but each & every arc adds layer after layer which rewards with this intriguing and interesting world, which is the main reason I like this series. The World Building. The series, especially the spinoff Railgun series not only adds characters just for the sake of it but also expands the world with these characters. It's always a delight to watch when such an enormous cast of characters often clash with each other, whether it be coincidental or not. But the main reason previous seasons or entries, while does the same thing they also take too much time to f*ck around with these characters in an SoL setting which isn't bad but it breaks the immersion in the seriousness of the story and characters, which thankfully this season, don't have that much of a problem and gives a full-on ride.
One main thing that's different from the previous seasons with this season is that;
The characters in previous Railgun series, blend in different settings, once being a sci-fi/thriller and other being a comfy SoL but in this season, the characters drives the plot instead of blending into a different setting which gives it a lot more consistency and better flow which wasn't achieved in previous seasons and adds a much more serious tone to it. With our usual group of Misaka, Kuruko, Saten & Uriharu, we also got a small introduction to the all the Level 5s. Gunha really stole the screentime as small as it might be and Shokuho cemented herself as the Level 5 Queen, during the Festival Arc. After the Festival Arc, we got some nice interactions between different characters, like the ITEM girls and the main gang, one being the "Bust Upper" episode which was dumb, overused but pretty hilarious with it's own twist. The newly introduced characters also had their fair share of impact. While Kuroko got a good screentime as Judgement, she still felt as annoying as ever. Misaka continued to prove why she works better as a protagonist than Touma, and the rest of the cast are all well explored.The conflict in each arc was very immersive but the highlight of this season is definitely the Festival Arc. The Festival Arc, which started as a small missing case build up into something a lot more and unexpected than it's initial setting was. This arc merged like nearly 15 different characters into one coherent plot with giving enough screentime and development to each of those characters. All other arcs are pretty well rounded too, even if it's just one or two episodes it slowly build each character and make them not just side characters but "memorable" side characters. The final arc also had some interesting philosophy regarding "soul" & "human" with a sci-fi conflict.
This is just a nitpick, but while there are like 4 different arcs and the flow of each arc might be smooth but sometimes some arcs don't end properly. The Anime left a few things open without proper explanation even though enough consideration was given like;
"The Shadow Metal" thing which never got explored more than like 5 minutes despite got repeated a few times in the initial arc
Some payoffs like the final "Dream Ranker" arc of the season might have had a spectacular ending but the initial Festival Arc falls in a few places like character resolution and grand finale kinda felt flat and just ended up as a "secret power got revealed" kinda thing (kinda like Episode 19 of Demon Slayer but without the flashback scenes).As I said, I really wished I liked this series because of the interesting world and power mechanics (Science side) it had but couldn't because of how boring the previous installments were. While this season isn't perfect, this is my favorite season in the entrie franchise.
